This is Elegant Emu — a bird with a beak for croissants and an eye for colour. She strutted out of Adavale with a macaron in one claw and the spirit of a Paris runway in the other. A little bit fabulous, a little bit feral — and utterly unbothered by your opinion.
Elegant Emu was inspired by a visit to a French patisserie nestled in south west Queensland - ‘Paris end of Adavale aka Elegant Emu’.
This portrait captures the unlikely harmony between rustic wilderness and refined whimsy. Bold purples and vibrant detailing evoke native flora, while delicate painted leaves and blossoms thread through the feathers like nature’s own embroidery.
